Mental Health and Wellbeing

Headspace

Work with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future

Youth Focus

An early intervention and prevention service offering support to young people who may be showing early signs of depression, suicide ideation and self-harm.

Helping Minds

Offers services such as education, youth programs and family support.

Provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.

Act Belong Commit

Aims to increase individual and community wellbeing by increasing and strengthening connections between community members.

COPMI (Child of Parents with a Mental Illness)

Provides information and links to support options to assist young people (up to 18) who have parents with a mental health disorder.

Think Mental Health

Aims to build mental health and well-being and reduce mental health issues with view to reducing Western Australia’s suicide rate.

Young Carers

Young carers are people under the age of 26 who help look after a family member who needs extra support at home. The person they care for may have a disability, mental illness, a drug or alcohol problem, or a long term illness. A young carer may not be the main person who looks after their relative, but they usually have extra responsibilities at home compared to other people their age. Each young carer helps their family in different ways.

Parkerville

Parkerville Children and Youth Care is a Not-For-Profit organisation located throughout Western Australia. It is their mission to protect, care, advocate and promote recovery for children and young people who have experienced trauma from abuse, to support families and to work with the community to prevent child abuse.

Kid’s Helpline

Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.

Lifeline

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services

MercyCare

Mercy Reconnect – Supports young people aged 12-18 yrs. Provides free mediation, counselling, group work and practical support to the whole family.

Legal Aid

Legal Aid WA offers free or low-cost legal services to the community. We can help if you have questions about the law, if you are going to court, or if you need advice on a legal problem.

Mirrabooka Family Support Network

A partnership of agencies working together to support children, young people and their families. We provide central access to a range of support services, ensuring each family or individual can select the mix of services they wish to receive on a voluntary basis whilst maintaining confidentiality of client information.

Metropolitan Migrant Resource Support Centre

The Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre (MMRC) as a not for profit settlement service organisation, has more than two decades of recognised achievements in providing high quality, culturally appropriate, client centred services that meet the needs of refugees, humanitarian entrants and newly arrived migrants.

Wanslea

Wanslea provides services for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren (full-time) on an informal basis.

North Metro Drug and Alcohol Service

The Intergrated North Metro Community Drug and Alcohol Service is a partnership between Cyrenian House, Next Step Alcohol & Drug Services & Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal Network (DAWN). The service provides individuals & their families with access to a comprehensive range of alcohol & drug services from one location.

Drug Aware

Leading provider of specialist services in sexual and reproductive health.  Doctors, nurses & counsellors are available for confidential consultations on sexual and reproductive issues.

Perth Children’s Hospital Gender Diversity

An out-patient service that provides children & adolescents up to 18 years with a multidisciplinary approach to the assessment, care and treatment of gender diversity.

Headspace

hQ space is a drop in space at the Joondalup office where young people aged 12-25 years can feel free to be themselves in terms of their sexuality/ gender identity. Allies welcome too.

Sexual Assault Resource Centre

The Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) is part of the Women and Newborn Health Service. SARC has over 35 years of experience in providing high-quality care for females and males, 13 years and over, who have been affected by sexual assault or sexual abuse. SARC provides a 24-hour emergency service in metropolitan Perth.
