Share Your Story in Harvest – Ashdale’s Student Writing Anthology

Do you have a story waiting to be told? A poem you’ve been perfecting? Lyrics, a personal reflection, or a creative piece inspired by the world around you?

Now is your chance to become a published author.

Ashdale Secondary College is inviting students from all year groups to submit their original writing for the 2026 edition of Harvest, our annual anthology celebrating the creativity, imagination and talent of our students.

This Year’s Theme: Resilience

Great stories have the power to inspire, challenge and connect us. This year’s theme, Resilience, encourages students to explore overcoming obstacles, finding strength, embracing change or persevering through life’s challenges. Your interpretation is entirely your own—be creative and let your voice shine.

What Can You Submit?

We welcome a wide variety of writing, including:
  • Short stories
  • Memoirs and personal essays
  • Poetry and lyrics
  • Letters
  • Illustrated stories
  • Narrative passages
  • Persuasive writing

Whether you’re an experienced writer or submitting your first piece, we encourage you to experiment with different genres and styles.

Why Enter?

Selected entries will be published in Harvest: An Anthology of Work from Ashdale Students, allowing you to see your writing in print and share your work with the College community.

Competition entries will also be judged by an external panel of industry professionals, recognising outstanding creativity, originality and thoughtful engagement with the theme.
